Entomology Carniolica exibens INSECTA carnioliae indigenous and distributed in ordines, genera, species, varietates Methodo Linnaeana.
Vindobonae, Typis Ioannis Thomae Trattner, 1763. FIRST rare edition. The book is dedicated to Ernesto Federico, Duke of Saxony. In 8vo (cm 20.3); Nice copy. His works include the Flora Carniolica, and the Carniolic Entomology, with the description of the botanical species and the insects studied during his travels and ordered according to the Linnean system. The history of zoological systematics begins with 1758, the date of publication of the Systema naturae by Carl von Lineé; 5 years later the Carniolic Entomology was published, the first work on Italian fauna. In addition to describing hundreds of new species, it describes for the first time the mating of the queen bee outside the hive.
